I am at the end of my rope. How many times have we felt that way. I imagine the answer most of us would give-quite a few times. What usually happens when we reach the end? We have a meltdown, breakdown, blowup, blowout, shutdown, throwdown, showdown and...well you get the picture. First comes the exhaustion, and then comes the guilt. Why did I do that, why did I let it go that far, hurt that much, and let all my buttons get pushed? These kind of crash and burns usually take a while to get past for most of us. We have to crawl up from the bottom of our emotional wreckage, and start at zero again. But with each episode, we also gain endurance, strategy, and strength for the next time, until eventually the rope gets longer and longer and it becomes close to impossible to reach the end. Needless to say this sometimes takes years to accomplish, but well worth the journey. So next time, work, family, friends or that call to customer service lays on your last nerve, remember... when you get to the end of your rope.....tie a knot in it and hang on!
